Literature, like its cousins film and music, has long been a source of controversy. Perhaps because good literature forces society to confront its differences, fears, and problems, people throughout history have protested, banned, and burned books that present objectionable ideologies.
As much as one may dislike censorship or fear offensive texts, the conversation about which literature to read and which to avoid (and why) is, perhaps, the whole point of literature, itself.
Let’s consider this as we move on to the task.
