Introduction
A WebQuest for English 9 at Elizabethtown Area High School
Adapted by the EAHS English Department, summer 2009, based on this webquest.

Before reading Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel, To Kill A Mockingbird, we have to have an in-depth understanding of the setting and the historical context of the South in the 1930s. We must seek to understand the people, their way of life, and the ideas by which they lived.
Some of the most useful resources for researching the past are old newspapers. Each newspaper, while it reports on current events, comprises one piece of the ongoing story of life.
Remember how important newspapers are as we move on to the task.
