When we need images for projects, we need to follow fair use guidelines. The easiest way to do this is to use images from the Internet that have been designated for others to use by their owners/creators.

REMEMBER, WE ALWAYS GIVE CREDIT TO THE IMAGE’S OWNER/CREATOR! MAKE MLA CITATIONS AND INCLUDE THEM IN YOUR WORK!

Here are some options for finding images that we can use fairly.

Google Image Search: “Labeled for reuse”
Go to http://images.google.com/advanced_image_search?hl=en and choose “Labeled for reuse” in the Usage Rights dropdown menu.

Pics4Learning
Pics4Learning allows you to search or browse for images that have been posted online specifically for educational use.

Wikimedia Commons
The Wikimedia Commons is a good source of images that can be used for projects.

Morgue File
Check out the Morgue File. Each image is licensed for anyone to use for anything!

Flickr Commons Search
Go to http://www.flickr.com/search/advanced and choose “Only search within creative-commons licensed content.” Search and you shall find.
