Please follow these criteria for your interview preparation responses and the feedback you provide your classmates. You will craft a response to one of our mock interview questions. You will share your response with your class on edmodo. After creating each response, you have until the start of the next class (two days) to reply critically to two of your classmates’ responses. Be equitable with your replies, do not add a second reply to anyone’s response until every response has a first reply, and so on.
You will be instructed by Mr. Adams as to which questions you may choose to respond to.
The three replies you craft should each begin with one of these openings. You should finish the initial sentence and add 1-2 more to explain your point.
- The impression this answer gives the interviewer is that you …
- If I were the interviewer I would want to also know …
- Be careful when you say … because …
Here is the rubric for the responses and replies. Each round of responses and replies will be scored separately.
Response (12 points)
- Follows RAGES paragraph-content recommendation (Restate question, Answer question, Give support, Explain support, Summarize).
- Emphasizes at least one strength or employability trait.
- Content is appropriate.
- Style is fluid and easy-to-recite.
Replies (12 points – 4 per reply)
- Content is supportive and specific, not insulting or derogatory.
- Correctly uses required openers to help classmate understand the impact of his/her response.
- Critique shows depth of thought and consideration of the interviewer’s and interviewee’s perspectives.
Remember: submitting one’s work for peer scrutiny can be nerve-wracking enough without classmates taking one’s feelings for granted. Be specific and kind with your feedback to your classmates. As usual, all class and school rules for appropriate communication are in effect in our online interactions.
