Playing Games

There are many reasons why I incorporate games in my classes on a weekly basis. Students focus on the competition and enjoyment of play, students enjoy the social element of group or class games, and games break up the monotony of units that require some muddling.

On Cubing and Thinkdots

I’ve not often accused of sheepishness, but I must sheepishly admit that I was not enamored with the cubing and thinkdots strategies when I first looked into them. At first glance they seemed a bit elementary. It’s not that I do not like to incorporate games, choice, or chance into my teaching, it’s just that there are quite a few logistics required to set up six relatively simple activities.
